Assemblywoman Jean-Pierre Secures State Grant for Copiague Fire District

New York State Assemblywoman Kimberly Jean-Pierre (D-Wheatley Heights) recently secured a $125,000 capital grant for the Copiague Fire District. These funds, which were obtained through New York’s ‘State and Municipal Facilities Program,’ will allow the District to make capital improvements to its Great Neck Road fire house with masonry work, interior painting, electrical repairs, new rooftop alert sirens, a new radio system and new electronic tote boards. Assemblywoman Jean-Pierre presented Copiague Fire District Vice Chairman Arthur Steigert and Commissioner William Crothers, Jr. with an official commemorative check.

“Our volunteer firefighters sacrifice so much on behalf of the communities they serve, and these funds will help ensure that the Copiague Fire District has the resources it needs to continue to protect Copiague families,” said Jean-Pierre.
