Assemblywoman Jean-Pierre: State Budget Doesn’t Do Enough for Long Island Families

We must keep working to help our communities navigate this crisis

“In the face of an unprecedented public health crisis and economic downturn, my fellow legislators and I faced difficult choices during the budget process. While I’m disappointed that we couldn’t fund everything or advance all of our bold initiatives, I remain committed to doing everything I can to supporting Long Island families during this difficult time.

“As we navigate the weeks and months ahead, it’s critical that we continue working to provide support for those affected by COVID-19. But we can’t do it alone. The federal government must keep passing comprehensive stimulus legislation to help New Yorkers and all Americans pay their bills and get back on their feet when the pandemic subsides. The 2020-21 state budget is far from perfect, but I want to assure Long Island families that our vision for a fairer and more just New York will always endure.

“Now more than ever, if you need assistance with coronavirus-related challenges or have any questions or concerns, please contact my office at 631-957-2083 or jeanpierrek@nyassembly.gov. Be well and stay safe.”
