Byrnes Attends Press Conference Highlighting Assembly Minority Budget Priorities

Today, Assemblywoman Marjorie Byrnes (R,C-Caledonia) attended a press conference held by the Assembly Minority Conference outlining their budget priorities in the back of the Assembly chamber. The press conference called for numerous policies to be included in the 2019-20 final budget, including making the property tax cap permanent, increasing funding for Consolidated Local Street and Highway Improvement Program (CHIPS), and providing unfunded mandate relief.

“Today’s press conference was an important step towards economic relief for New York’s residents. The proposals highlighted today, if implemented, would provide financial relief to our middle class, increase funds to our municipalities, and increase economic growth in our communities,” said Byrnes. “I commend Leader Kolb and my fellow colleagues for their hard work and efforts to make New York a better place to live, and I urge Gov. Cuomo to include these common sense proposals in the 2019-20 final budget.”
