Byrnes Joins Highway Workers at CHIPS Rally

Today, Assemblywoman Marjorie Byrnes (R,C-Caledonia) joined New York highway employees to call on the governor to increase funding for the Consolidated Local Street and Highway Program (CHIPS) in the State Capitol. CHIPS provides state funds to various areas across the state for roads, bridges and highways projects. The rally called to include an increase in funding towards CHIPS to improve our decaying roads, bridges and highways, which are some of the oldest infrastructure in the nation.

“It was a pleasure meeting the many hard-working men and women who attended the rally today. Our roads and highways are some of the oldest infrastructure in the nation, and it is pertinent that we increase funding to improve them,” said Byrnes. “Our residents deserve access to safe infrastructure and I hope the governor and State Legislature takes notice to deliver this important funding.”
