Byrnes Disappointed By End of Session Outcome

A Legislative Statement from Assemblywoman Marjorie Byrnes (R,C-Caledonia).

“If you’re an inmate, a criminal or an illegal immigrant, you made out well this Legislative Session. State Majority allowed undocumented immigrants to go to college tuition-free and gave them the ability to obtain government IDs. They prioritized prisoner’s pay raises over direct-care workers, and prioritized the right to allow felons to serve on juries while middle-class families continue to struggle. Under one-party rule, the State Legislature has proven itself to be counter-productive and failed to bring forth meaningful change in Albany, including providing much-needed tax relief. Although the end of session was nothing short of disappointment, I will continue to push for meaningful legislation, listen to all concerns of all New Yorkers and strive to create a better New York.”
