Slater Hosts Putnam County Senior Health Fair
Assemblyman Matt Slater (R,C-Yorktown) hosted a Senior Health Fair in Putnam County on Thursday, Nov. 3. The fair provided our elderly community, caregivers and their families with a variety of beneficial tools and services. Slater partnered with the Putnam County Office of Senior Resources and Putnam Hospital. Some of the exhibitors included were Medicare specialists, senior living facilities representatives and elder-law attorneys.
This is the second health fair Slater has hosted; the first was held in Westchester County in October. This continued support and dedication to helping senior citizens will lead to improvements for those in the senior community.
“Connecting local seniors to essential services they may not even be aware of is one of the most fulfilling parts of my job as a state legislator representing our town. The well-being of our seniors reflects our society’s commitment to compassion and respect. I am proud to be able to make an impact, and I want to thank everyone who helped out and attended the fair in Putnam County,” said Slater.
“Putnam County is blessed with a vibrant, active population of seniors from which we have learned and continue to learn. Events like this help connect this growing population with the services and programs that are offered, not just by the county government but by our many great partners in the community. Thank you to all of the hard-working county employees from the Department of Health and the Office for Senior Resources for participating, and thank you to Assemblyman Slater for helping organize this entire event.”
After having two widely successful fairs in Putnam County and Westchester County, Slater looks forward to hosting one again next year in hopes of reaching even more seniors and caregivers in the community.
