Slater Delivers Essential Support to Local Families

Assemblyman Matt Slater (R,C–Yorktown) today announced the successful conclusion of his third annual diaper drive, held throughout February in partnership with Putnam Community Action Partnership (CAP) and local municipalities across the 94th Assembly District.

Diapers are a necessity for infants and toddlers, yet nearly half of families with young children struggle to afford them. Thanks to the generosity of the community, more than 1,600 diapers were collected this year—providing essential relief to more than 80 local families facing New York’s ongoing affordability crisis.

“Every parent knows diapers are essential, but there are some who struggle to afford them,” said Slater. “I’m proud to once again partner with Putnam CAP and our local communities to support families who are struggling. The outpouring of generosity we’ve seen over the past three years proves that when our community sees a need, we step up. While New York’s affordability crisis continues to impact working families, this is one meaningful way we can come together to support our neighbors and ensure every child has access to basic necessities.”

“We are incredibly grateful to Assemblyman Matt Slater for his continued leadership in organizing this diaper drive,” said Marisa O’Leary, Director of Putnam Community Action Partnership. “These donations provide essential relief to the low-income families we serve, ensuring that every child in our community has access to basic necessities. This partnership is a testament to what we can achieve when we work together for our neighbors.”
