Durso, Blakeman & Pearl Host a Free Narcan Training Program

New York State Assemblyman Michael Durso, in coordination with Nassau County Executive Bruce Blakeman and Village of Massapequa Park Mayor Dan Pearl recently hosted a Free Naloxone (Narcan) Training program on March 14th at Massapequa High School.

The training was provided by Calle Panakos, Coordinator of Education & Training at Nassau County Office of Mental Health, Chemical Dependency and Developmental Disabilities Services. The program educated attendees of overdose risk factors, recognizing and responding to an overdose, and administration of Naloxone (Narcan), the lifesaving antidote that can reverse the fatal effects of an Opioid overdose and save a person's life.

“Narcan trainings and substance abuse awareness programs continue to be a critical part of our efforts to combat opioid overdoses and deaths that affect all communities across Long Island and New York State,” said Durso. “I want to thank everyone who attended this life-saving event and a special thank you to Calle Panakos for providing this vital training and education.”
