Norris Appointed To Assembly Tourism Committee

Assemblyman Mike Norris (R,I-Lockport) is proud to announce that he has been appointed by Assembly Minority Leader Brian M. Kolb (R,C-Canandaigua) to serve on the Assembly Committee on Tourism, Parks, Arts and Sports Development.

“I am very pleased to add the work of this committee to my agenda in Albany because back home in Western New York I have been working very hard on many local initiatives, including expanding the Niagara County Wine Trail, highlighting the Erie Canal’s economic impact to our region, and working with historic sites like Old Fort Niagara,” said Norris. “I would like to thank Leader Kolb for instilling his confidence in me, and I will continue working on behalf of all the citizens of the 144th Assembly District to improve our community’s quality of life and economic prospects.”

Norris’ new role puts him in a position to assist in the growth of the Western New York economy and continue the revitalization of towns and cities in the region like the City of Lockport. “The City of Lockport has seen its own revitalization in recent years, with new business development and regional tourism attractions I am eager to continue the growth of our city,” said Lockport Mayor Anne McCaffrey. “I am proud to have a partner in government like Assemblyman Mike Norris and look forward to working with him in his new role on the Assembly Tourism Committee.”

In addition to his work on the new committee, Norris will remain the ranking minority member on the Election Law Committee as well as a member of the committees on Aging, Cities, Health and Higher Education.
