Norris Welcomes Local Youth Bureaus To Albany

Assemblyman Mike Norris (R,I,C,Ref-Lockport) was proud to welcome a delegation from the Niagara County and Clarence Youth Bureaus to the state Capitol this week. The group was in Albany to discuss their efforts to support positive development of youth throughout the community.

“It’s always such a pleasure to welcome constituents to Albany, particularly youth visiting the Capitol for perhaps the first time. I am so proud to represent them and support their efforts to make a positive difference in the world,” said Norris.

Youth bureaus allow interested teenagers to gain practical leadership and executive experience as they are tasked with choosing projects best suited to their community to further help youth. The projects are funded through monies provided by the state, but allocated by each youth bureau’s advisory board comprised of both youth and adult members appointed by the county legislature. For more information about joining the youth bureau in your community, please contact Assemblyman Norris at (716) 839-4691or norrism@nyassembly.gov, or contact your local county legislator.
