Montesano Supports Pilot Grant Program for NYS Center for Clean Water Technology

November 27, 2017

Assemblyman Michael Montesano (R,C,I-Glen Head) is pleased to announce that the NYS Center for Clean Water Technology (CCWT) at Stony Brook University will be accepting proposals for advanced water treatment technologies to rid drinking water of 1, 4-dioxane with a pilot grant program. The mission of the CCWT is to create economical, top-quality restoration and protection for drinking water that can be used in a variety of locations. Proposals will be accepted from water providers in New York until the December 15 deadline.

“It is important to rid drinking water of all contamination as it is such a life necessity and could greatly affect the population if left untreated,” said Montesano. “I hope that with this pilot program a multitude of water treatment technologies can be tested in order to ensure that the people of New York remain safe and healthy. New Yorkers should not have to think twice when getting a glass of water for themselves or their loved ones, which is why this program is such an important project.”
