“New Yorkers deserve a budget that makes everyday life easier, but unfortunately, this budget does not address the financial strain families face each day. Although the Albany Majority included penalties for committing crimes while wearing masks and discovery reforms that will allow more fairness for the prosecution during trials, the vast majority of this budget glosses over the critical top priorities for New Yorkers. Not only is this the largest budget in state history, a $13 billion increase from last year, but it does nothing to curb the affordability crisis or the outmigration crisis we are facing,” said Novakhov.
