Fifteen community members recognized for their contributions to the 22nd Assembly district
Floral Park, NY – On Saturday, March 9, 2024, the 11th annual Women of Distinction ceremony was held at Sewanhaka High School, hosted by Assemblywoman Michaelle C. Solages. Fifteen women nominated by the community for their leadership and service to the 22nd Assembly district were honored.
Over two hundred community members joined together in celebration of these outstanding women, accompanied by performances by the Sewanhaka High School jazz band and orchestra. The honorees were presented with proclamations from the New York State Assembly highlighting their achievements. A reception followed the ceremony with catering by Pretty Toni’s Cafe. Floral arrangements were provided by Still Blooming. Both providers are Valley Stream women-owned businesses.
“This year’s honorees represent the best of what the 22nd Assembly district has to offer,” says Assemblywoman Michaelle C. Solages. “From business owners to public servants, they demonstrate that strong women lead the way in our community each and every day. It is thanks to their hard work that we live in such a vibrant community.”
