VALLEY STREAM, NY — In 2026, Assemblywoman Michaelle C. Solages has so far delivered $300,000 in community funding from the state to local organizations serving families, young people, seniors, and residents across the 22nd Assembly District.

These state funds come in addition to the $10 million in Downtown Revitalization Initiative funding that the Assemblywoman advocated for and helped secure for the Village of Valley Stream earlier this year.

The funding has supported programs focused on food security, youth development, educational enrichment, community leadership, public safety partnerships, and neighborhood improvement.

“One of my most important responsibilities as Assemblywoman is making sure our communities receive the resources we deserve,” said Assemblywoman Michaelle C. Solages. “Year-round, my team and I work to bring state dollars back home and support the organizations that serve the residents of District 22 every day.”

The approved funding has been allotted to:

• Long Island Cares to support additional food purchases for homeless outreach, mobile pantries, and senior services to fight food insecurity on Long Island.
• ICNA to support back-to-school and hunger prevention initiatives through the distribution of necessities to the community.
• The Nassau County Police Activity League to support youth programming, uniforms, technology, and outreach.
• CGE Lab, Inc. to support youth recreational development.
• ReWild Long Island to support restoration and community planting events.

“These organizations reflect the best of our district,” said Assemblywoman Solages. “They are feeding families, mentoring young people and creating educational opportunities to bring neighbors together and improve the communities we call home.”

Securing local funding is a key part of the Assemblywoman’s work in Albany and in the district.

In addition to advocating for statewide legislation and budget priorities, she works to identify opportunities to support nonprofits, schools, local governments, houses of worship, and community-based organizations.

“I will continue fighting to make sure the 22nd Assembly District receives its fair share,” said the Assemblywoman. “And that state resources reach the people and programs that need them most.”
