Assemblywoman Michaelle Solages in Conjunction with the American Red Cross Will Host a Blood Drive

Assemblywoman Michaelle Solages (22nd Assembly District), in conjunction with the American Red Cross, will be hosting her first blood drive Saturday November 30, from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. at the Elmont American Legion Post 1033, 60 Hill Avenue, Elmont, NY 11003.

Assemblywoman Solages is encouraging everyone who is at least 17 years old (16 years old with written consent from parent or legal guardian), weighs at least 110 pounds, and in good health to help save several lives by participating. Individuals who are age 76 and older can continue to donate blood if they meet all donor criteria and present a physician’s letter allowing them to donate.

“The need for blood locally remains constant, a strong and stable community blood supply is crucial to the health and well-being of residents in the area,” said Assemblywoman Solages. I am proud to have the American Red Cross join me in efforts that will provide blood to those in need and help save the lives of dozens of people.”

The American Red Cross collects thousands of pints of blood yearly which are tested and then distributed for blood products. The amount needed per year continues to grow. That’s why you are so important for this blood drive. One pint of blood can save three lives. And now we need your help. Help save a life for the holidays. Please join us for this important event.

All donors will have an opportunity to enter a contest for the chance to win (2) two tickets to Super Bowl LXVIII to be held at the Life Stadium. The American Red Cross in partnership with the Super Bowl Host Committee is donating the tickets to Super Bowl XLVIII.
