Elmont, NY – Five local students spent the summer working as interns at the District Office of Assemblymember Michaelle C. Solages. The 2017 summer internship program provided students with the opportunity to solve local constituent casework issues as well as represent the Assemblywoman at community meetings and events alongside staff members.
“There is a strong need to engage young people in local government,” said Assemblywoman Michaelle C. Solages. “I am confident they found the internship rewarding as well as learned a lot about New York State government.”
Five students who participated in the internship were (from left to right):
Abiodun Ojo, Valley Stream
Jibin Varghese, Elmont
Jason Rubin, Oceanside
Christian Pierre-Louis, Elmont
