Assemblyman Lawler Presents Grant To The Town Of Orangetown To Help Fund A New Splash Pad In Veterans Memorial Park

Orangeburg, NY, 7/13/2022… Assemblyman Mike Lawler (R,C,I,SAM-Pearl River) and Senator Elijah Reichlin-Melnick announced today a total of $375,000 in funding, secured in the past two state budgets, to help construct a Splash Pad at the Town of Orangetown's Veterans Memorial Park.

“I'm thrilled to be here today to announce the $50,000 SAM grant I was able to secure in last year's budget for the Town of Orangetown,” said Lawler. “It is especially meaningful for me to provide this funding to my hometown, and to a project that my daughter and thousands of other kids from all across Orangetown will be able to enjoy.”

“I'm pleased that between the Senate and Assembly grants for this project, almost the entire cost of this project is covered, saving Orangetown hundreds of thousands in cost that can be conveyed back to the taxpayers and towards other critical projects within the town. Under Supervisor Kenny’s leadership, town residents have seen dramatic improvements to our parks and open spaces, including a new all-inclusive playground and dog run at Veterans Memorial Park. These new recreational opportunities are a tremendous asset to our community and improve the quality of life in Orangetown.” concluded Lawler.
