Assemblywoman Nicole Malliotakis reads to Summer Reading Challenge participants during her visit to the South Beach Branch of New York Public Library.
Assemblywoman Nicole Malliotakis (R,C,I-Brooklyn, Staten Island) today visited the South Beach Branch of New York Public Library in celebration of the 2014 Summer Reading Challenge. During her visit, Malliotakis read three different books to the children in attendance, and also presented certificates to the 241 participants in this years program.
I really enjoyed sharing my love of reading with the boys and girls who participated in this years Summer Reading Challenge, said Malliotakis. While summer is a time for fun and relaxation, it is crucial for our children to continue to challenge themselves intellectually. Reading not only helps children to become more successful in the classroom, but is the foundation to unlocking every childs imagination.
Malliotakis visited the Great Kills Branch of the New York Public Library today as well.
