Assemblywoman Hunter Elected Treasurer of the National Council of Insurance Legislators
Assemblywoman Pamela J. Hunter (D-Syracuse) announced she has been elected Treasurer of the National Council of Insurance Legislators (NCOIL). NCOIL is a legislative organization focused on educating state lawmakers on insurance issues and improving insurance legislation nationwide.
“I am honored to have been elected Treasurer of the National Council of Insurance Legislators,” said Assemblywoman Hunter. “As an active member of NCOIL for five years, my proudest achievement remains what I’ve been able to do as the chair of the Health and Long-Term Care Committee. Now, as the first African American woman elected as an officer in this organization, I look forward to my diverse viewpoint and years of experience helping to make fair insurance policy.”
“NCOIL is fortunate to have Assemblywoman Hunter join its officer ranks as our new Treasurer,” said NCOIL CEO Tom Considine, former NJ Commissioner of Banking & Insurance. “She has been a tireless member for years, and an outstanding chair of NCOIL’s Health Insurance & Long Term Care Issues Committee. I look forward to working even more closely with her as she expands her leadership portfolio,” Considine concluded.
