Assemblymember Hunter Supports Much-Needed Infrastructure Plan for Upstate New York
“Central New York could not have been a better place for Governor Cuomo to announce his Transportation Capital Plan. This $22 billion proposed investment in infrastructure is vital to fix our crumbling roads and bridges. In addition to this investment in infrastructure, is a much-needed plan to freeze tolls as well as reduce the cost of tolls for those who travel the most on the Thruway. This will benefit all Central New Yorkers, from farmers to commuters, who rely on the roadway to get from work to home and bring their goods to local communities.
“The governor also recently announced a proposal for an additional $100 million to improve our aging water and sewer systems. Syracuse, like many municipalities in the state, is struggling to repair and replace a water main system that in some areas is over 120 years old.
“I look forward to working with the governor and my colleagues to make sure that these proposals are included in discussions leading up to the final budget.”
