“There is a problem with our tax system in New York; the gap between high-income earners and middle- and low-income earners continues to grow. There is no sign New York millionaires are fleeing the state; in fact, the number of millionaires has grown since the implementation of the Millionaire’s tax.

“I stand behind the Assembly’s proposed changes to the state’s tax code which will bring fairness by requiring millionaires to pay their fair share. Making these much-needed changes will increase revenues, which will allow us to invest in a better education for our children, fix our crumbling roads, bridges and water mains and create jobs in areas such as Central New York that are in need of economic development.”
