Smullen and Fulton County Sheriff Partner For Venison Donations
Assemblyman Robert Smullen (R,C,I,SAM-Meco) is partnering with the Fulton County Sheriff’s Department to provide fresh venisonto seniors and veterans in need or unable to hunt themselves. This is a tradition famous in parts of the Adirondack region that Smullen is eager to help expand into Fulton County, a county well-known for its many hunters and game clubs.
“I believe partnering with local hunters and hunting clubs to donate venison is a simple but impactful way we can give back to members of our community,” Smullen said. “Through our partnership with the Fulton County Sheriff’s Department, we’re hoping that hunters interested in sharing some of their bounty with those in need will consider donating.”
The donated game will be kept in freezer storage through a separate partnership with Kingsborough Lumber Company, and donations will be accepted throughout January and February. The distribution event is scheduled for March 15, 2022.
“I’m looking forward to doing some hunting myself this season, and I hope to do well enough that I’m able to donate a lot of it to those in need. I look forward to seeing other members of the community do the same,” Smullen concluded.
