KENMORE, NY — Assemblyman Robin Schimminger (D-C-I-Kenmore) has been inducted into the Hall of Fame of the Boys & Girls Clubs of the Northtowns in recognition of his many contributions to the organization.
“I am honored and humbled that the Boys & Girls Clubs of the Northtowns have chosen me for this prestigious recognition,” Schimminger said. “As an elected official, I recognize the vitally important role that these organizations play in enriching the lives of our youth and families while encouraging them to get more involved in their local communities. I’m also pleased to be joined by Marie Battaglia, Rich Finiki and the J.W. Danforth Company as this year’s class of inductees.”
In all, Schimminger has directed $478,250 in state Assembly funding to the Boys & Girls Clubs of the Northtowns during his time in Albany. This funding has been essential to the growth of various youth programs, building maintenance and other renovations that have allowed associated programs to thrive and enrich the lives of generations. The local organization formed through a merger of the Boys & Girls Clubs of the Tonawandas and the Town Boys & Girls Club. Most recently, in the 2017-18 fiscal year, Schimminger enabled the Boys & Girls Clubs to receive a $10,000 grant to go toward new fencing and a pavilion at their Town Club, as well as a message board and renovated entrance doors at the Newman Club.
