January 17, 2019

Kenmore, NY – Assemblyman Robin Schimminger (D-C-I-Kenmore) has announced that he has secured state legislative funding for several projects of note in the Village of Kenmore. These monies are earmarked for the village’s Department of Public Works and Fire Department, as well as the Kenmore Community Center.

The Village of Kenmore will receive $255,000 to go toward purchase of DPW equipment, including a salter, a pumper and an electronic lift truck, as well as for turnout gear for firefighters who belong to the Kenmore Fire Department. A second legislative grant in the amount of $500,000 has been provided by Schimminger to cover the cost of necessary renovations scheduled to be made at the Kenmore Community Center at Mang Park.

“As always, we are extremely grateful for the funding that Assemblyman Schimminger has secured for the village of Kenmore,” said Village of Kenmore Mayor Patrick Mang. “Assemblyman Schimminger has been very helpful in securing these much-needed monies. The village is very grateful for these funds, as well as funding we have received in the past, and I look forward to working with the Assemblyman in the future.”

“The Village of Kenmore offers its residents a strong sense of community and a wide variety of hands-on services to enhance quality of life,” Schimminger said. “I am pleased to allocate these funds to assist our first responders and DPW employees in doing the best job they can possibly do to make this possible. Also, since the Community Center is a gathering place for people of all ages for a variety of functions, I look forward to seeing this legislative funding put to good use to ensure that it continues to serve this purpose.”
