The Regional Alliance for Small Contractors in partnership with New Jersey Institute of Technology is offering a Construction Management Certificate program. This innovative program, sponsored by NJ TRANSIT, will lead to a certificate in Construction Management and 1.6 Continuing Education Units to each student who successfully completes the course.

The objective of this program is to present and discuss the management of construction projects during their accomplishment in the field. The coursework is designed for contractors, engineers, designers and others in the construction industry. The course covers the fundamentals of construction management which includes construction cost and estimating, blueprint reading, project scheduling and contract administration.

Eligible candidates must be certified as Minority, Women, Small/Disadvantaged Business Enterprise (M/W/S/DBE) with NJ TRANSIT. All others will be considered only if space is available. In order to receive a certificate of completion, you MUST attend all four sessions from 9:00 am to 3:00 pm.

The DDC is hosting its 4th Annual Conference on Contract Opportunities. The Conference fosters partnerships for minority- and women-owned businesses (M/WBEs). Small business owners will meet with exhibitors spanning the public and private sectors. This event is designed to help M/WBEs grow in an increasingly competitive business environment.

Because M/WBE firms will be in attendance, this is a great opportunity for all M/WBE's, large firms and agencies alike to network and develop partnerships.

Deputy Mayor Richard Buery will be the keynote speaker. DDC will have exciting breakout sessions including Small Business Services’ “Doing Business with the Government,” and “SBS Programs & Initiatives (including the Contract Financing Loan Fund and the Bond Collateral Assistance Fund).”

In addition, hear what is coming down the DDC Pipeline in Public Buildings and Infrastructure. Finally, join us for workshops entitled “Navigating the DDC Contract Process,” and “Payments: What Not to Do.”
