Statement From Assembly Minority Leader Will Barclay on The Fourth Of July Holiday
July 4, 2023
“Today we celebrate the birth of our nation and recognize the historic significance of the Fourth of July. On this date in 1776, our founding fathers adopted the Declaration of Independence, establishing the United States of America as a free country. Throughout history, courageous men and women have fought to protect the values of freedom, liberty, prosperity and equality. Those guiding principles have allowed America to become as the greatest nation in the world.
As we gather with family and friends, I want to wish everyone a joyful and safe celebration filled with the spirit of America. From my family to yours, have a happy and safe Independence Day!”
