Statement from Assembly Minority Leader Will Barclay on the Second Budget Extender Passed

“In case New Yorkers need another reminder of how dysfunctional the state budget process is, today’s second extender offered more proof. With the April 1st deadline now a distant memory, New York’s spending plan will be at least a week late with no end in sight. The final state spending plan will be in excess of $252 billion and represents some of the most important work conducted by the Legislature. The persistent lack of timely action, sense of urgency, and transparency is unacceptable.”
