Barclay Backs Pro-Business Legislation
Assemblyman supports environmentally friendly incentive program
Assemblyman Will Barclay (R,C,I-Pulaski) recently voted for Assembly bill 5149, legislation which would provide competitive capital grants of up to $100,000 to small businesses in order to encourage and support alternative energy.
“This bill is a win-win: Not only is it good for business, but it also supports the Empire State’s environment,” said Barclay. “This program offers competitive grants to businesses to help them afford the costs of alternative energy and sustainable fuels.”
The grants would be dispersed from the Empire State Economic Development Fund; all funds for this program are subject to available future budget appropriations.
“It is imperative in these tough economic times that we focus on pro-business legislation in order to get the Empire State back on the right track. With these new competitive grants, we are opening up new opportunities for our small-business job creators and protecting the environment at the same time,” said Barclay.
