Barclay Presents SUNY Oswego with Proclamation

Assemblyman Will Barclay (R,C,I—Pulaski) presented SUNY Oswego President Deborah F. Stanley with an Assembly Proclamation, honoring the college’s 150 years of education. The college was founded in 1861. This year the college is hosting its Sesquicentennial Celebration with a number of special events. Oswego is one of 13 university colleges in the SUNY system. The college’s founder, Edward Sheldon, was known for his innovative teaching methods. “Our region is fortunate to have SUNY Oswego in its midst. Thank you President Stanley for leading the college into the 21st Century and seeing that our local college remains viable, competitive and respected,” Barclay said.
