Barclay Welcomes Local Art Students To Capitol
The New York State Art Teachers Association recently held its Student Art Exhibit in Albany. Student artists were selected from participating districts to have their work on display in the Capitol and to meet their State Assembly and Senate representatives during an exhibit held June 10 in Albany. “This is an excellent program, and I enjoy seeing all of the artwork by talented, young artists and meeting the artists themselves,” said Barclay. “They are a credit to their dedicated instructors.” Oswego City School and Baldwinsville Central School districts participated. Oswego City School District chose the works of six artists. The artists selected were Margaret O’Leary and Aidan Robbins from Leighton Elementary, Danielle Wright and Mara Criollo-Rivera from Riley Elementary, Alyssa Cheeley from Oswego Middle School, and Dain Jerred, from Oswego High School. Baldwinsville Central School District chose the works of 10 student artists for the exhibit. The artists selected were Katie Collins and Olivia Bixby from Elden Elementary School, Hannah Gould and Jordan Wasiluk from McNamara Elementary School, Bella Iannitti and Julia Spiech from Palmer Elementary School, Jonathan Starling and Maria DeCaro from Reynolds Elementary School, and Gracie Wheeler and Deven Pienkowski from VanBuren Elementary School.
