Harborfest Presents Framed Poster of Winning Design to Assemblyman Barclay
Harborfest Executive Director Doug Buske presented Assemblyman Will Barclay (R,C,I—Pulaski) with a framed copy of the official Harborfest poster today at Harborfest headquarters in Oswego.
The contest was given to the students at G. Ray Bodley High School in Fulton this year, challenging them to create a 2015 Harborfest poster design. This year’s winner was G. Ray Bodley senior Chlarissia Crast. Chlarissia’s poster will appear in the annual program and will be on sale during the festival.
Organizers recently announced that Harborfest will be a featured summer event promoted by the I Love NY website. Organizers hope this exposure will help draw even more people from out of town to visit Oswego and the surrounding area for the weekend event.
“I’m proud of Harborfest and of all of the people who dedicate their time and efforts to celebrate this successful event every year. Through efforts at headquarters, and the many volunteer hours community members contribute, this event continues to be a huge draw for thousands of people each year and is something the entire Oswego community can be proud of,” said Barclay. “I’m also pleased to hear that I Love NY will be helping to better promote Harborfest as well.”
“I would like to thank Assemblyman Barclay for his support in making Oswego Harborfest a huge success. Much needs to be done in coordinating this annual communitywide event, and his assistance with governmental agencies has helped us considerably. Harborfest is built on and continues due to partnerships and relationships. Assemblyman Barclay supports local organizations, and people throughout his district, and we at Harborfest, appreciate all that he does for us,” said Doug Buske, Executive Director of Harborfest.
