Barclay Applauds PSC’s Commitment to Keeping Fitz Operational

Assemblyman Will Barclay (R,C,I—Pulaski) made the following statement today after the Public Service Commission announced today that they have expedited a plan to seeing that FitzPatrick is refueled in conjunction with the Clean Energy Standard. The PSC has been formulating a new energy credit that would place a monetary value on the zero-emission power produced by FitzPatrick and other qualified plants.

“I’m encouraged that the Public Service Commission has decided to expedite plans under the Clean Energy Standard to try and keep FitzPatrick operational. These efforts run parallel to legislation that I’ve introduced, which would value nuclear as a zero-emission and dependable energy source that powers thousands of homes with electricity. I look forward to working with the PSC and others to try and keep FitzPatrick operational,” said Assemblyman Barclay.
