“In the past week, our Conference has made great progress and brought this bill to the forefront both statewide and nationally. Today, the governor announced he’ll use executive power to broaden the eligibility requirements for the MERIT scholarship. This new policy will benefit Gold Star families statewide who have suffered because of the sacrifices their families made for our nation. I’m thankful the governor did the right thing today and am honored to have taken part in this process that went far beyond politics.”
