Cleanup Advisory
Assemblyman William Colton (D—Gravesend, Bensonhurst, Bath Beach and Dyker Heights) will be holding a community cleanup on Saturday, November 23, from 11 a.m.-2 p.m., with participants meeting at 29 Bay 25th Street and fanning out from there.
This Saturday’s cleanup will be done in partnership with the Chinese American Social Services Center (CASS). The target of the cleanup will be 86th Street, between 16th and 25th Avenues.
“With the holidays right around the corner, we are particularly eager to spruce up an important shopping strip,” said Assemblyman Colton. “Having a clean commercial corridor is so beneficial to the neighborhood, its residents and its merchants, who are an important backbone of the community. And, we are so appreciative of the efforts of the volunteers who give of their time to beautify the streets they walk every day.”
Assemblyman Colton has led community cleanups focusing on the area’s bustling business areas for over a decade, and has sponsored cleanups along the neighborhood’s busy commercial strips through the summer and fall.
