Assemblyman Colton Offers AAA Defensive Safety Drivers Course
Assemblyman William Colton has arranged with the Automobile Club of New York to have another Defensive Driving Safety Course given at 29 Bay 25th Street (Off 86th Street.) on Saturday, February 26th, from 9 AM. to 4 PM. The previous course given on Feb. 6th was a sell out.
Assemblyman Colton has obtained a reduced rate for his constituents of $25.00 that must be paid in advance by check to the Automobile Club of New York, when you sign up at his Community Office at 211 Kings Highway. After completing a six-hour Defensive Drivers Course, or Point and Insurance Reduction Program (PIRP) course, you will be given a certificate that you turn into your insurance company for a discount on your base rate of your automobile liability and collision premiums for three years.
Assemblyman Colton states "It’s bad enough that we here in Brooklyn have some of the highest insurance premiums in the country. I am glad to have arranged this life saving drivers’ defensive course, not only will you drive safer having taken it, but you’ll be saving a lot of money."
The course is interesting and refreshes your driving knowledge. It reviews time tested safe driving tips and gives you an overview of today’s vehicle and traffic laws. You can reduce as many as 4 points on your driving record. The DMV computer will automatically note your eligibility to receive the reduction. And if you’re the principal operator of a motor vehicle, you will receive a minimum of ten percent reduction in the base rate of your automobile and motorcycle liability and collision insurance premiums each year for three years.
