Assemblyman Colton Investigating Rumors of Boody’s Principal Being Booted
Demanding answers for PTA!
Assemblyman William Colton (D-47 AD) is shocked to learn that the principal of David A. Boody IS 228 has been asked to leave, according to parents of IS 228’s PTA. Principal Rose Caniglia came from out of the district, Queens, at the bequest of then Superintendent Michelle Fratti, who retired recently.
“When the Boody PTA came to my office to ask me for help to keep their principal, I was outraged that this hard working Educator who keeps the school open from 7am to 6 pm, and is loved and supported by parents and staff, was being asked to leave. I know Principal Caniglia and admired her community involvement and how she brought the school up in its annual proficiency ratings within these past two years,” said the angry Bensonhurst/Gravesend legislator, who added, “Not only will I support the parents in their fight to keep Principal Rose Caniglia, I will join in with other Legislators and public officials to see that this gross injustice never happens!
Principal Caniglia was responsible for bringing Social Studies curriculum into the school and supported Boody’s champion chess team.
Assemblyman Colton has made inquiries to Chancellor Klein and the Community School District 21 Superintendent to get the facts.
