Assemblyman Colton Presented a Remarkable Veterans Meeting

Assemblyman William Colton (D – Gravesend, Bensonhurst, Bath Beach, and Dyker Heights) and 47th Assembly District Leader Nancy Tong had sponsored a meeting to recognize our veterans on November 14, 2018. Councilman Chaim Deutsch, who is chair of the New York City Council Committee on Veterans, also participated in honoring our veterans.

“The meeting was an enormous success. Over fifty people were present including a Color Guard from The American Legion Lt.B.R. Kimlau Chinese Memorial Post 1291, veterans from the Korean War, Vietnam War, World War II and other veterans who have served our country. Councilman Chaim Deutsch and Asher Zlotnik, a representative from Congressman-Elect Max Rose, came to express their respect and honor the veterans. Each veteran was acknowledged by a certificate and a USA flag lapel,” stated Colton.

Colton continues, “For many years my office has been having annual meetings to show appreciation to our veterans which have become a tradition. Veterans Day is a day not only to remember those who served in the past, but also to recognize those who continue to serve today.

“It is our duty to remember the sacrifices of all those who fought to preserve our freedom,” said District Leader Nancy Tong.
