Assemblyman Colton Applauds DOS Commissioner Kathryn Garcia for Speaking Out Against Mayor de Blasio's City Policies
Assemblyman William Colton (D – Gravesend, Bensonhurst, Bath Beach, and Dyker Heights) is saying kudos to the NYC DOS Commissioner Kathryn Garcia for recognizing that the city policy poses a real health threat to New Yorkers and refuses to continue as a Sanitation Commissioner under such conditions.
"I've been saying this for months that de Blasio had reduced the budget for litter basket service citywide by 63% compared to last year. That the reductions are equivalent to an effective headcount loss of 400+ sanitation workers. It is unspeakable that during hot summer days and the COVID-19 crisis, the mayor decided to eliminated funding for litter basket collections," Colton stated.
"Now even the NYC DOS Commissioner has had enough under Mayor de Blasio's devastating policies. de Blasio's policies didn't give DOS Commissioner a choice but to resign. Once again Mayor de Blasio has proved that NYC is in great danger under his administration and that he's a worst Mayor that NYC ever have seen," Colton added.
