Assemblyman Colton Sounds Alert to Families in the Community That COVID-19 is on the Rise

Assemblyman Colton (D – Gravesend, Bensonhurst, Bath Beach, and Dyker Heights) sounds alert to families in the community that COVID-19 is on the rise.

“As we all know COVID-19 in March of 2020, became an immense problem for all of us. Since then I’ve been observing it very closely and advised people what they need to know in order to keep themselves and their loved ones safe and sound. It seemed that the virus got under control and not too many cases were reported,” Colton stated.

“Unfortunately, today I heard on 1010 WINS that COVID-19 test results confirmed 6% of positive cases which is very disturbing, especially the neighborhoods in zip codes 11204, 11214, 11223, 11228 have become hot spots. I’ve contacted the Governor’s office, Mayor’s office, and NYC DOH and I will be investigating this matter further,” Colton continued.

“We have come so far to now fall back to the same conditions we’ve been in March and April. Meanwhile, everyone should use caution and exercise safety to ensure that we all stay safe and well by wearing masks, washing hands frequently, practicing social distancing, and avoid large gatherings of people. I’ll be on top of this issue to make sure that these numbers are accurate. Anyone who needs hand sanitizer and masks can feel free to contact my office at 718-2361598. Together, we can and will beat COVID-19,” Colton added.
