New York State Assemblyman Bill Conrad Presents Resolution Honoring Del Reid, Dan Gigante and Their Team at 26 Shirts

The Buffalo-based company has donated more than $1 million in proceeds to local families and organizations in need

Buffalo – Today, July 26, 2021, New York State Assemblyman Bill Conrad presented a formal copy of Assembly resolution K197 to Del Reid and Dan Gigante, owners of the business 26 Shirts.

The resolution was adopted by the Assembly in April, in recognition of 26 Shirts’ record of generosity and recent fundraising milestone.

The company designs and produces a limited-edition shirt every two weeks, or 26 shirts a year, then donates sales proceeds to a local family or community organization in need. 26 Shirts has now raised more than $1.1 million for 300 people and causes, including sick children and vulnerable youth; families beset by emergencies, trauma or loss; food banks, cancer research, pandemic-related initiatives, and more.

26 Shirts is headquartered in Buffalo’s Tri-Main Center in Assembly Majority Leader Crystal Peoples-Stokes’ 141st Assembly District, while Reid is a resident of the Village of Kenmore in Conrad’s 140th Assembly District.

Conrad met with Reid, Gigante and staff at 26 Shirts to give him and his staff a keepsake copy of the resolution put forth in honor of their efforts.

Majority Leader Crystal Peoples-Stokes said, “Del Reid, Dan Gigante and company 26 Shirts represent what it means when we call Buffalo the City of Good Neighbors. Since its inception in 2013, 26 Shirts has been making a difference for Western New York by raising and donating over $1 million dollars to families in need or charitable organizations. I applaud Del Reid, Dan Gigante and 26 Shirts for their solicitude and philanthropy.”

Assemblyman Bill Conrad said, “Del and Dan are innovators and entrepreneurs, but even more impressive than their creativity and business savvy is their commitment to community. They had this brilliant idea, for what they called a ‘social good project,’ with the number-one goal of helping people in crisis. And in doing so, Del has continued his spirited boosterism for Buffalo, while showcasing the neighborliness we so value as a region. The Majority Leader and I were proud to share the story of 26 Shirts with our colleagues, and to honor the company for setting an example of compassion and charity, for all of us here in Western New York.”

26 Shirts Founder Del Reid said, “Such a resolution is truly humbling – and while it is a huge honor for this to have been passed under my name, I would be remiss not to mention the entire 26 Shirts staff that helps carry out this vision, along with our sponsors, and of course our fellow fans that purchase the shirts. We can put forth all the designs we want, but if people don’t believe in our mission and purchase the shirts, no good gets done!”
