Assemblyman Ramos secured $40,000 for the 6th Assembly District Graffiti Removal Campaign, administered by the Long Island Urban League. The program is already delivering results.

Stamping out gang activity

Assemblyman Ramos is working to eradicate gangs and gang violence by sponsoring legislation that would:

Allow Suffolk County to establish gang courts that will deal exclusively with gang-related activity (Passed Assembly)
Allow the state police to work with local and federal law enforcement, create a centralized place where information relating to gangs will be kept, and authorize the Division of Criminal Justice Services to award grants to district attorneys to help stop gang activity (Passed Assembly & Senate)
Cut down on the use, sale or trafficking of “community guns” – firearms that have been previously used in illegal activity
