“One of my top priorities is promoting economic growth and creating good jobs.”
– Assemblyman Phil Ramos

The 2011-12 budget:
  • Enhances Excelsior Jobs to encourage private sector job creation through expanded tax credits

  • Enhances the Linked Deposit Program to provide businesses access to the working capital they need to implement a viable business strategy

  • Provides funding for regional economic development councils — fostering a locally-based approach to job creation

  • Creates Recharge New York, a program that doubles the amount of low-cost power available to businesses

HOW THE 2011-12 STATE BUDGET HELPS SUFFOLK COUNTY
Long Island Association President Kevin Law says:
“The LIA applauds [a] budget agreement that addresses the deficit without raising taxes and in fact eliminates the income tax surcharge on the middle class and small business owners on Long Island. In addition, the approval of the Recharge NY Power Program and the regional economic development councils demonstrates Albany is serious about improving the business climate for our state which is critical during this slow and bumpy economic recovery.” — March 28, 2011
