Assemblymember Bill Colton On Wednesday, February 23rd, 2005, Assemblymember William Colton (D-Brooklyn) and COJO (Council of Jewish Organizations of Flatbush) will host a Community Job Fair over at 223 Kings Highway between the hours of 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. From resume writing workshops to assistance in job placement, the services offered by both Colton and COJO aim to target those in need of employment and help them transition into the job market. "I am very proud to join forces with COJO and bring such a crucial service to the neighborhood," said Colton. "Anything that we can do to assist people in sharpening their job skills and help them land a job in order to make a decent living, we must try our best to do," added the state lawmaker. The job fair is open to everyone between the ages of 22 and 62. Participants are required to bring picture identification (driver's license or non-driver's identification), their social security card, and, if available, a resume. However, the job fair includes an individual resume-writing workshop so people will be able to receive assistance in revising or creating their own resumes. In addition, there will be Russian, Chinese, and Italian-speaking persons ready to assist anyone with language difficulties. Appointments are required in order to participate in the Job Fair.
