Assemblyman Will Barclay (R,C,I,-Pulaski) recently joined several local students who took part in the New York State Art Teachers Legislative Student Exhibit. Within the 124th Assembly District, Fairgrieve Elementary School in Fulton had two students: third-grader Fiona McInnis; and second-grader, Emily Sohoski. The Charles E. Riley Elementary School, located in Oswego, also had two young artists: first-grader Arin Wendt and fifth-grader Turner McElroy. Also participating in the show were two tenth graders from Altmar-Parish-Williamstown Central High School: Jamie Knepper and Kayla Guindon.

"It is always a pleasure to see students from my district who are active in the arts and the teachers who cultivate their creativity," said Barclay. "Art is an important part of education. It fosters creative thought both in and out of the classroom and, for many children, helps boost their self-esteem. I look forward to seeing more local students participating in the Art Teachers Legislative Student Exhibit in the future."
