Hawley Announces Cell Phones For Soldiers Drive
The Assemblyman Is Collecting Cell Phones to Help Overseas Troops Call Home

Assemblyman Steve Hawley (R-I-C - Batavia) has partnered with Cell Phone for Soldiers, a national organization, to help overseas troops call their loved ones back here in the states. The Assemblyman is collecting cell phones and accessories that are no longer being used and would like to encourage residents of Western New York to participate in this program.

"Whether or not you support the war, there is no question that we all support our troops. They selflessly fight day and night to protect our freedoms so that we can enjoy all the liberties of being an American," stated Hawley. "To say thank you to our troops, I encourage everyone who has an old cell phone, they are no longer using, to donate it to our troops."

The Cell Phones for Soldiers program collects unused cell phones and their accessories from caring citizens across the United States. The collected phones are then turned into prepaid calling cards and given to United States military personnel stationed overseas so that they can stay in touch with their families and loved ones. A veteran himself, Hawley has set up collection stations all across Genesee, Monroe, Niagara and Orleans counties where constituents can drop off their unused phones and accessories
