Palumbo: Immigration Legislation Puts Public at Risk

Statement from Assemblyman Anthony Palumbo (R,C,I,Ref-New Suffolk)
February 9, 2017

“This Sanctuary State legislation puts the public at risk and is repulsive political theater. Attempting to mandate that state and local law enforcement officers should disregard federal law is shameless, unconstitutional grandstanding by the hysterical New York City Assembly Majority. None of us in this House are anti-immigration, but for the safety of our nation, let’s calm down and take a breath.

“Secondly, with the many hard-working families struggling to afford a college education, I believe we should help our taxpaying citizens first before considering spending taxpayer dollars on initiatives like the DREAM Act to provide free college to illegal immigrants who cannot even file a tax return.”
