Palumbo Joins Thiele and Sen. Lavalle to Declare September 16-23 as Estuaries Week in New York

Assemblyman Anthony Palumbo (R,C,I,Ref-New Suffolk) joined with Assemblyman Fred Thiele (I,D,WF,WE -Sag Harbor), and Sen. Kenneth LaValle (R,C,I-Port Jefferson) this past Saturday to present a citation to the Peconic Estuary Program declaring September 16-23, as Estuaries Week in New York State. The Resolution was presented at the organizations volunteer Salt Marsh Planting event at Cedar Beach in Southold.

“I was honored to join with Assemblyman Thiele and Sen. LaValle on Saturday and present a citation to the Peconic Estuary Program,” said Palumbo. “Their commitment to the Peconic Region is crucial to its protection, and the education and protection of all estuaries here in New York. By declaring September 16-23 Estuaries Week, we hope to shed light on the importance of New York’s estuaries and the crucial habitat they provide for New York’s wildlife, plant life, water quality and fishing industry.”
