"We are standing here because like Lady Liberty, Lady Justice is a symbol and she is a symbol of equal opportunity for all  to have access to recourse in our justice system. And when you look at Lady Justice she is blind folded, she cannot see, because when you go to court, you have access to court…no matter your income level, no matter your immigration status, no matter your religion or your race. Everyone is equal before the courts,"  said Assemblymember Michaelle Solages during the press conference held to formally introduce the Protect Our Courts Act which prohibits U.S. Immigrant and Custom Agents from making civil arrest in and around New York State court houses without a judicial warrant or court order.
