"Today I rise to raise awareness of the condition known as lymphedema, which is a condition that occurs often following a treatment for cancer, or one can be born with it. Lymphedema causes extreme swelling of one's arms or legs and can severely impair a person's mobility, not to mention one's pain and large quality of life effects. Lymphedema affects well over 10 million people her in the United States," said Assemblymember Linda Rosenthal while welcoming  Lymphedema advocates to the Assembly Chamber and calling on Governor Cuomo to proclaim March 6, 2018, as Lymphedema Day in the State of New York.
