- Assemblymember Lavine stops by Westbury Senior Center to announce a $25,000 grant he secured to support the programs and activities run by the facility.
- Lavine also presented a citation to outgoing Executive Director Andrea Padinha in recognition of all the hard work she has put in to help enrich the lives of the beloved seniors of Westbury.
- Hicksville Public Schools Superintendent Dr. Theodore Fulton and Assistant Superintendent for Business Marcy Tannenbaum meet with Assemblymember Lavine after he recently announced $500,000 in special funding he secured as part of the 2024-2025 state budget. Lavine noted how proud he is to be able to help this school district and its wonderful administrators, teachers, and support staff who are dedicated to providing the very best for our children, the lifeblood of our community.
- A joyous celebration at Westbury Memorial Public Library as it celebrates the 100th anniversary of the Robert Bacon Memorial Children’s Library. This remarkable building and the countless dedicated people who have worked here have been a source of inspiration for generations and will continue to be for many years to come. Lavine presents a citation in recognition of the momentous occasion.

Lavine told the crowd of supporters at the event that we must stand together to protect the rights of everyone regardless of their gender identity.
- Assemblymember Lavine attends the Juneteenth celebration at the Glen Cove Senior Center. The holiday marks the ending of slavery in the United States. At the event, Lavine reaffirmed his commitment to fighting for racial equality. He also announced that he secured $75,000 to help fund this wonderful center which provides so many activities and resources for the senior citizens in this great community.

- Assemblymember Lavine joins Assemblymember Steve Stern at Plainview-Old Bethpage High School to present citations to (l-r) Syon Khatter, Megan Lee, and Yoav Muscal. The graduating seniors presented their work at the Regeneron International Science and Engineering Fair in Los Angeles in May. The three qualified for the international fair by winning their respective scientific categories at the regional or state-level science and engineering fair with Yoav and Syon winning a grand award in their respective category. Lavine and Stern were honored to recognize the remarkable achievement and wished all three the best of luck in their future endeavors.
- The Plainview-Old Beth Bethpage Senior Citizens Club enjoys its annual summer kick-off BBQ. At the event, Assemblymember Lavine took the opportunity to announce that he was able to secure $25,000 in funding to help the club continue to provide such wonderful events and programs vital to living a vibrant and healthy lifestyle.

- Outgoing Jericho Schools Assistant Superintendent Dr. Ben Ciuffo is presented with a citation in recognition of his years of dedicated service to the community at the Board of Education meeting at Jericho High School.

- As part of the launch of Pride month, Assemblymember Lavine helps raise the Pride flag in downtown Glen Cove. - Lavine is privileged to attend a moving wreath laying at the ‘Dough Boy Memorial’ in front of the Glen Cove Library.
- Lavine presents a citation to Glen Cove High School Senior Jaida Ciampi, winner of the Glen Cove Library Echoes of Freedom essay contest. Jaida captured the essence of what Memorial Day is all about in her stirring essay paying tribute to the brave members of the armed forces who fought and died to preserve our freedom.
- The Glen Cove Yacht Club celebrates its annual commissioning day ceremony with Assemblymember Lavine there to present a citation marking the occasion and wish everyone a fun and safe boating season.
- Members of the American Jewish Congress have a timely and important discussion with Assemblymember Lavine and others at the Capitol in Albany. Lavine stands united with this organization and its mission to promote Jewish rights in America as well as strengthen the ties between the U.S. and Israel and work towards world peace.
- President and Founder of Living Water for Women Lisa Cohn accepts a citation from Assemblymember Lavine at the organization's 10th anniversary celebration in Glen Cove. This wonderful organization helps disenfranchised & formerly incarcerated women struggling with addictions to overcome their weaknesses and nurture their strengths so that they may become vital members of the community.
- Assemblymember Lavine and wife Ronnie attend a basketball game with special meaning in Plainview as members of the POB-JFK High School team take on Team Eshkol of Israel. Teens on the Israeli team come from the Kibbutzim most severely affected by the Oct 7th attack. One of the coaches was murdered and 3 players were kidnapped and eventually released. - Assemblymember Lavine is joined by Colonel Jason Halloren (Ret), former Deputy Commandment of West Point and trustee of the Museum of the American Armor, and “FDR” living historian Gary Stamm prior to the start of World War II Weekend at Old Bethpage Village Restoration where a two day program will pay tribute to those who protected our freedoms some 80 years ago and Americans still in uniform.

At the event, there were moving tributes to Robert Canavan, a longtime member and most recent commodore, who recently passed away. The event kicks-off the club’s 2024 season.
- Gun violence activist Linda Beigel Schulman joins Assemblymember Lavine at the "Buckets 4 Beigel" basketball tournament in Glen Cove. Money raised at the event goes to the Scott J. Beigel Memorial Fund whose mission is to send at-risk, undeserved children touched by gun violence to summer sleep-away camp. Linda’s son Scott was murdered as he saved lives during the massacre at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in Parkland, FL.
- The hardworking team at North Shore Soup Kitchen in Glen Cove’s historic First Baptist Church welcomes Assemblymember Lavine. At the gathering, Lavine thanked NSSK Board Member Bob Sherman (third from left) for the tour and showing him how a $25,000 grant he helped secure is providing top-quality meals for people struggling in these difficult economic times.
- Glen Cove’s Tiegerman Middle School is ADA compliant thanks to a grant to upgrade its facilities secured by Assemblymember Lavine. The school for children with developmental disabilities and autism spectrum disorders now has an elevator, renovated bathrooms, and a ramp at the front entrance. To mark the completion of the project, Lavine visited the school and was warmly welcomed by students, teachers, and administrators.
- Assemblymember Lavine joins Governor Kathy Hochul on the campus of Farmingdale State College to celebrate the $237 billion enacted budget that makes record investments in the people of New York without raising income taxes. Lavine said he’s most pleased with the investments made in public education and is thankful for the provisions concerning judicial security.

- Assemblymember Lavine visits his old and dear friend Jeanine DiMenna in her soon-to-be-opened restaurant Jeanine’s American Bistro at 242 Glen Cove Ave in Glen Cove.
- A flag representing the neurodivergent community flies over the City of Glen Cove. Thanks to the efforts of Assemblymember Lavine, the flag, designed by Jericho constituent Josh Mirsky, was raised at a special ceremony attended by Lavine and other dignitaries including the city’s mayor and representatives of the City Council.The event, which was spearheaded by Lavine’s office, comes during National Autism Awareness Month with the goal of creating more awareness about autism and a greater understanding and acceptance of those in the neurodivergent community.

- As Passover nears, Assemblymember Lavine is honored in Albany to be given a box of shmura matzah by Rabbi Shmuel Butman, Director of the Lubavitch Youth Organization. This special event celebrating the 122nd birthday of the revered late Lubivitcher Rebbe, Rabbi Menachem M. Schneerson.
- Assemblymember Lavine, who also serves as President of the New York Chapter of the National Association of Jewish Legislators, along with colleague and NAJL Co-President, Assemblymember David Weprin, co-sponsor the NAJL legislative breakfast from inside the New York State Capitol in Albany. Guest Speaker and Guest of Honor Dr. Stephen M. Berk, Professor of Holocaust and Jewish Studies, Union College gave an enlightened speech on the state of antisemitism in the New York State Public Education System.
